GOD’S WORD Translation
8 Whoever happened to have precious stones gave them to Jehiel, Gershon’s descendant, for the treasury of the Lord’s temple. 9 The people were overjoyed that the leaders gave so generously and wholeheartedly to the Lord.
King David was also overjoyed, and 10 he praised the Lord while the whole assembly watched. David said,
“May you be praised, Lord God of Israel,
our father forever and ever.[a]

8 Anyone who had precious stones(A) gave them to the treasury of the temple of the Lord in the custody of Jehiel the Gershonite.(B) 9 The people rejoiced at the willing response of their leaders, for they had given freely and wholeheartedly(C) to the Lord. David the king also rejoiced greatly.
David’s Prayer
10 David praised the Lord in the presence of the whole assembly, saying,
“Praise be to you, Lord,
the God of our father Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
