⁵⁵ O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”^(A)

⁵⁷ but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory [as conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ.

²³ Let us seize and hold tightly the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is reliable and trustworthy and faithful [to His word];

⁶ but Christ is faithful as a Son over His [Father’s] house. And we are His house if we hold fast our confidence and sense of triumph in our hope [in Christ].

⁴ For ^[a]everyone born of God is victorious and overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has conquered and overcome the world—our [continuing, persistent] faith [in Jesus the Son of God].
