1 Corinthians 1:14-17
New American Standard Bible
14 I am thankful that I (A)baptized none of you except (B)Crispus and (C)Gaius, 15 so that no one would say you were baptized [a]in my name! 16 But I did baptize the (D)household of Stephanas also; beyond that, I do not know if I baptized anyone else. 17 (E)For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, (F)not with [b]cleverness of speech, so that the cross of Christ would not be made of no effect.

Amplified Bible
14 I thank God that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius,(A) 15 so that no one would say that you were baptized into my name. 16 Now I also baptized the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I do not know if I baptized anyone else. 17 For Christ did not send me [as an apostle] to baptize, but [commissioned and empowered me] to preach the good news [of salvation]—not with clever and eloquent speech [as an orator], so that the cross of Christ would not be [a]made ineffective [deprived of its saving power].

1 Corinthians 1:14-17
King James Version
14 I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;
15 Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.
16 And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.
17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
