1 Corinthians 1:16-18
New Life Version
16 I remember I did baptize the family of Stephanas, but I do not remember baptizing any others. 17 Christ did not send me to baptize. He sent me to preach the Good News. I did not use big sounding words when I preached. If I had, the power of the cross of Christ would be taken away.

New International Version
16 (Yes, I also baptized the household(A) of Stephanas;(B) beyond that, I don’t remember if I baptized anyone else.) 17 For Christ did not send me to baptize,(C) but to preach the gospel—not with wisdom(D) and eloquence, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.
Christ Crucified Is God’s Power and Wisdom
18 For the message of the cross is foolishness(E) to those who are perishing,(F) but to us who are being saved(G) it is the power of God.(H)
1 Corinthians 1:16-18
King James Version
16 And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.
17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
