¹² remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, ^[a](A)excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to ^(B)the covenants of promise, having ^(C)no hope and ^(D)without God in the world.

⁵ not in ^[a](A)lustful passion, like the Gentiles who ^(B)do not know God;

⁸ dealing out retribution to those who ^(A)do not know God and to those who ^(B)do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
