4 and did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them: and the rock was [a]Christ. 5 Howbeit with most of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. 6 Now [b]these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

4 and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock(A) that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ. 5 Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them; their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.(B)
6 Now these things occurred as examples(C) to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did.
