New International Version

²⁸Everyone ought to examine themselves^(A) before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup.

⁴But let each one ^(A)test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor.

⁴Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone,^(A) without comparing themselves to someone else,^(B)
