²You know that when you were pagans,^(A) somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols.^(B)

²Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.

²You know ^(A)that^[a] you were Gentiles, carried away to these ^(B)dumb^[b] idols, however you were led.

⁸Formerly, when you ^(A)did not know God, you ^(B)were enslaved to those that by nature ^(C)are not gods.

⁸Formerly, when you did not know God,^(A) you were slaves^(B) to those who by nature are not gods.^(C)

⁸Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.

⁸But then, indeed, ^(A)when you did not know God, ^(B)you served those which by nature are not gods.
