1 Corinthians 14:15-17
Disciples’ Literal New Testament
15 What then[a] is to be done? I will pray with the spirit, and[b] I will also pray with the mind. I will sing-praise with the spirit, and I will also sing-praise with the mind. 16 Otherwise, if you are blessing[c] with your spirit[d] [only], how will the one filling the place of the uninstructed[e] say the “Amen” at your thanksgiving, since he does not know what you are saying? 17 For you are giving-thanks well[f]— but the other person is not being edified.

15 So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit,(A) but I will also pray with my understanding; I will sing(B) with my spirit, but I will also sing with my understanding. 16 Otherwise when you are praising God in the Spirit, how can someone else, who is now put in the position of an inquirer,[a] say “Amen”(C) to your thanksgiving,(D) since they do not know what you are saying? 17 You are giving thanks well enough, but no one else is edified.(E)
