⁶ But now, brothers and sisters, if I come to you speaking in tongues, how will I benefit you unless I speak to you either by way of ^(A)revelation, or of ^(B)knowledge, or of ^(C)prophecy, or of ^(D)teaching?

A Thorn in the Flesh

⁷ Because of the extraordinary greatness of the ^(A)revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given to me a ^(B)thorn in the flesh, a ^(C)messenger of Satan to ^[a]torment me—to keep me from exalting myself!

¹² For ^(A)I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a ^(B)revelation of Jesus Christ.

^2 [a]It was because of a ^(A)revelation that I went up; and I submitted to them the ^(B)gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but I did so in private to those who were of reputation, for fear that somehow I might be ^(C)running, or had run, in vain.
