19 If it is in this life only that we believe on Christ, then we are of all men the most miserable.
20 But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the first fruits of those who sleep. 21 For by a man came death, and by a man came the resurrection of the dead.

19 If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.(A)
20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead,(B) the firstfruits(C) of those who have fallen asleep.(D) 21 For since death came through a man,(E) the resurrection of the dead(F) comes also through a man.
