1 Corinthians 15:26-28

International Standard Version

²⁶The last enemy to be done away with is death, ²⁷for “God^[a] has put everything under his feet.”^[b] Now when he says, “Everything has been put under him,” this clearly excludes the one who put everything under him. ²⁸But when everything has been put under him, then the Son himself will also become subject to the one who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.

²⁶The last enemy to be destroyed is death.^(A) ²⁷For he “has put everything under his feet.”^[a]^(B) Now when it says that “everything” has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ.^(C) ²⁸When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him,^(D) so that God may be all in all.^(E)
