15 But if the unbeliever leaves, let him leave. A brother or a sister is not bound in such cases. God has called you[a] to live in peace. 16 For you, wife, how do you know whether you will save your husband? Or you, husband, how do you know whether you will save your wife?

17 However, each one must live his life in the situation the Lord assigned when God called(A) him.[b] This is what I command in all the churches.

15 But if the unbeliever leaves, let it be so. The brother or the sister is not bound in such circumstances; God has called us to live in peace.(A) 16 How do you know, wife, whether you will save(B) your husband?(C) Or, how do you know, husband, whether you will save your wife?
Concerning Change of Status
17 Nevertheless, each person should live as a believer in whatever situation the Lord has assigned to them, just as God has called them.(D) This is the rule I lay down in all the churches.(E)
