1 Corinthians 7:7-9

7 I wish that all of you would be as I myself am. However, each person has a particular gift from God, one having one kind and another a different kind.
8 To the unmarried and to widows, I say that it is a good thing for them to remain as they are, as I do. 9 However, if they are unable to exercise self-control, they should marry, for it is better to be married than to burn with passion.

7 I wish that all of you were as I am.(A) But each of you has your own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that.(B)
8 Now to the unmarried[a] and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I do.(C) 9 But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry,(D) for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.
