¹⁴ So also ^(A)the Lord directed those who proclaim the ^(B)gospel to ^(C)get their living from the gospel.

⁶ nor ^(A)seeking glory from men, either from you or from others, even though as ^(B)apostles of Christ we ^[a]could have been a burden to you.

⁹ For you remember, brothers, our ^(A)labor and hardship, how ^(B)working night and day so as not to be a ^(C)burden to any of you, we proclaimed to you the ^(D)gospel of God.

⁸ nor did we ^(A)eat ^[a]anyone’s bread ^[b]without paying for it, but with ^(B)labor and hardship we kept ^(C)working night and day so that we would not be a burden to any of you; ⁹ not because we do not have ^(D)the authority, but in order to offer ourselves ^(E)as a model for you, so that you would imitate us. ¹⁰ For even ^(F)when we were with you, we used to command this to you: ^(G)if anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat. ¹¹ For we hear that some among you are ^(H)walking in an unruly manner, doing no work at all, but acting like ^(I)busybodies. ¹² Now such persons we command and ^(J)exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ, that ^(K)working with quietness, they eat their own bread. ¹³ But as for you, ^(L)brothers, ^(M)do not lose heart in doing good.

¹⁴ And if anyone does not obey our word ^[c](N)in this letter, take special note of that person ^(O)to not associate with him, so that he will be ^(P)put to shame. ¹⁵ And yet ^(Q)do not regard him as an enemy, but ^[d](R)admonish him as a ^(S)brother.

¹⁶ Now ^(T)may the Lord of peace ^(U)Himself continually give you peace in every ^[e]circumstance. ^(V)The Lord be with you all!
