1 Corinthians 9:24-26
Disciples’ Literal New Testament
On The Other Hand, I Will Do Everything Needed To Win My Race And Keep My Prize
24 Do[a] you not know that the ones running in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Be running in this manner: that you may take-hold-of the prize. 25 And everyone competing exercises-self-control as to all things. So those do it in order that they might receive a decayable crown, but we an undecayable one. 26 So-indeed I run in this manner, as not aimlessly[b]. I box in this manner, as not beating the air.

New International Version
The Need for Self-Discipline
24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize?(A) Run(B) in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown(C) that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.(D) 26 Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly;(E) I do not fight like a boxer beating the air.(F)
