²⁴ As for you, let that abide in you which you heard ^(A)from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also ^(B)will abide in the Son and in the Father.

^11 (A)For this is the message ^(B)which you have heard from the beginning, ^(C)that we should love one another;

⁵ Now I ask you, lady, ^(A)not as though I were writing to you a new commandment, but the one which we have had ^(B)from the beginning, that we ^(C)love one another.

⁶ And ^(A)this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, ^(B)just as you have heard ^(C)from the beginning, that you should walk in it.
