27 As for you, the (A)anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing (B)teaches you about all things, and is (C)true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, [a]you abide in Him.
28 Now, (D)little children, abide in Him, so that when He (E)appears, we may have (F)confidence and (G)not [b]shrink away from Him in shame [c]at His (H)coming. 29 If you know that (I)He is righteous, you know that everyone also who practices righteousness (J)is [d]born of Him.

28 And now, dear children,(D) continue in him, so that when he appears(E) we may be confident(F) and unashamed before him at his coming.(G)
29 If you know that he is righteous,(H) you know that everyone who does what is right has been born of him.(I)
