⁵ but whoever ^(A)keeps His word, in him the ^(B)love of God has truly been perfected. ^(C)By this we know that we are in Him:

¹⁷ By this, ^(A)love is perfected with us, so that we may have ^(B)confidence in ^(C)the day of judgment; because ^(D)as He is, so also are we in this world. ¹⁸ There is no fear in love; but ^(E)perfect love casts out fear, because fear ^[a]involves punishment, and the one who fears is not ^(F)perfected in love. ^19 (G)We love, because He first loved us. ^20 (H)If someone says, “I love God,” and ^(I)hates his brother, he is a ^(J)liar; for ^(K)the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, ^(L)cannot love God whom he has not seen. ²¹ And ^(M)this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God ^(N)should love his brother also.
