10 And had given him a (A)charge concerning this thing, that he should not follow other gods: but he kept not that, which the Lord had commanded him.
11 Wherefore the Lord said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as [a]this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my Covenant, and my statutes (which I commanded thee) (B)I will surely rent thy kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.
12 Notwithstanding in thy days I will not do it, because of David thy father, but I will rent it out of the hand of thy son:

10 Although he had forbidden Solomon to follow other gods,(A) Solomon did not keep the Lord’s command.(B) 11 So the Lord said to Solomon, “Since this is your attitude and you have not kept my covenant and my decrees,(C) which I commanded you, I will most certainly tear(D) the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your subordinates. 12 Nevertheless, for the sake of David(E) your father, I will not do it during your lifetime. I will tear it out of the hand of your son.
