10 and had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods; but he did not keep what the Lord commanded. 11 Therefore the Lord said to Solomon, “Since this has been your mind and you have not kept my covenant and my statutes which I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom from you and will give it to your servant. 12 Yet for the sake of David your father I will not do it in your days, but I will tear it out of the hand of your son.

10 Although he had forbidden Solomon to follow other gods,(A) Solomon did not keep the Lord’s command.(B) 11 So the Lord said to Solomon, “Since this is your attitude and you have not kept my covenant and my decrees,(C) which I commanded you, I will most certainly tear(D) the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your subordinates. 12 Nevertheless, for the sake of David(E) your father, I will not do it during your lifetime. I will tear it out of the hand of your son.
