1 Kings 11:11-13
1599 Geneva Bible
11 Wherefore the Lord said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as [a]this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my Covenant, and my statutes (which I commanded thee) (A)I will surely rent thy kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.
12 Notwithstanding in thy days I will not do it, because of David thy father, but I will rent it out of the hand of thy son:
13 Howbeit I will not rent all the kingdom, but will give one [b]tribe to thy son, because of David my servant, and because of Jerusalem which I have chosen.

New International Version
11 So the Lord said to Solomon, “Since this is your attitude and you have not kept my covenant and my decrees,(A) which I commanded you, I will most certainly tear(B) the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your subordinates. 12 Nevertheless, for the sake of David(C) your father, I will not do it during your lifetime. I will tear it out of the hand of your son. 13 Yet I will not tear the whole kingdom from him, but will give him one tribe(D) for the sake(E) of David my servant and for the sake of Jerusalem, which I have chosen.”(F)
