And he had seven hundred wives, that were [a]princesses, and three hundred [b]concubines, and his wives turned away his heart.

For when Solomon was old, his wives turned his heart after other gods, so that his heart was not [c]perfect with the Lord his God as was the heart of David his father.

For Solomon followed (A)Ashtoreth the god of the Sidonians, and [d]Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.
