Good News Translation
6 He sinned against the Lord and was not true to him as his father David had been. 7 On the mountain east of Jerusalem he built a place to worship Chemosh, the disgusting god of Moab, and a place to worship Molech, the disgusting god of Ammon. 8 He also built places of worship where all his foreign wives could burn incense and offer sacrifices to their own gods.

6 So Solomon did evil(A) in the eyes of the Lord; he did not follow the Lord completely, as David his father had done.
7 On a hill east(B) of Jerusalem, Solomon built a high place for Chemosh(C) the detestable god of Moab, and for Molek(D) the detestable god of the Ammonites. 8 He did the same for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and offered sacrifices to their gods.
