1 Kings 12:18-20
New King James Version
18 Then King Rehoboam (A)sent Adoram, who was in charge of the revenue; but all Israel stoned him with stones, and he died. Therefore King Rehoboam mounted his chariot in haste to flee to Jerusalem. 19 So (B)Israel has been in rebellion against the house of David to this day.
20 Now it came to pass when all Israel heard that Jeroboam had come back, they sent for him and called him to the congregation, and made him king over all (C)Israel. There was none who followed the house of David, but the tribe of Judah (D)only.

New International Version
18 King Rehoboam sent out Adoniram,[a](A) who was in charge of forced labor, but all Israel stoned him to death.(B) King Rehoboam, however, managed to get into his chariot and escape to Jerusalem. 19 So Israel has been in rebellion against the house of David(C) to this day.
20 When all the Israelites heard that Jeroboam had returned, they sent and called him to the assembly and made him king over all Israel. Only the tribe of Judah remained loyal to the house of David.(D)
