29 He set up one in Bethel,(A) and put the other in Dan.(B) 30 This led to sin;(C) the people walked in procession before one of the calves all the way to Dan.[a](D)
31 Jeroboam also made shrines[b] on the high places(E) and made priests from the ranks of the people who were not Levites.(F)

29 One he set up in Bethel,(A) and the other in Dan.(B) 30 And this thing became a sin;(C) the people came to worship the one at Bethel and went as far as Dan to worship the other.[a]
31 Jeroboam built shrines(D) on high places and appointed priests(E) from all sorts of people, even though they were not Levites.
