29 He set (A)one in (B)Bethel, and the other he put in (C)Dan. 30 Now (D)this thing became a sin, for the people went to worship before the one as far as Dan. 31 And (E)he made houses on high places, and (F)made priests from among [a]all the people who were not of the sons of Levi.

31 Jeroboam built shrines(D) on high places and appointed priests(E) from all sorts of people, even though they were not Levites.
