1 Kings 15:3-5
New Life Version
3 And he walked in all the sins which his father had done before him. He was not faithful to the Lord with all his heart, like the heart of his father David. 4 But the Lord his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem because of David. He gave him a son to rule after him and to keep Jerusalem strong. 5 Because David did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. He did not turn away from anything the Lord told him to do all the days of his life, except in what happened with Uriah the Hittite.

1 Kings 15:3-5
New International Version
3 He committed all the sins his father had done before him; his heart was not fully devoted(A) to the Lord his God, as the heart of David his forefather had been. 4 Nevertheless, for David’s sake the Lord his God gave him a lamp(B) in Jerusalem by raising up a son to succeed him and by making Jerusalem strong. 5 For David had done what was right in the eyes of the Lord and had not failed to keep(C) any of the Lord’s commands all the days of his life—except in the case of Uriah(D) the Hittite.
