⁴Nevertheless ^(A)for David’s sake the Lord his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem, by setting up his son after him and by establishing Jerusalem;

⁴Nevertheless for David's sake did the Lord his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:

¹⁹Yet the Lord would not destroy Judah, for the sake of His servant David, ^(A)as He promised him to give a lamp to him and his sons forever.

¹⁹Yet the Lord would not destroy Judah for David his servant's sake, as he promised him to give him alway a light, and to his children.
