Elijah Predicts Drought

17 Now Elijah the Tishbite, who was of ^[a](A)the settlers of Gilead, said to Ahab, “^(B)As the Lord, the God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, surely ^(C)there shall be neither dew nor rain these years, except by my word.”

Judgment Must Come

15 Then the Lord said to me, “Even ^(A)though ^(B)Moses and ^(C)Samuel were to ^(D)stand before Me, My ^[a]heart would not be ^[b]with this people; ^(E)send them away from My presence and let them go!

¹⁹ therefore thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, “Jonadab the son of Rechab ^(A)shall not lack a man to ^(B)stand before Me ^[a]always.”’”
