²¹ Elijah came near to all the people and said, “^(A)How long will you ^[a]hesitate between two opinions? ^(B)If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” But the people did not answer him a word.

^13 (A)No ^[a]servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and ^[b](B)wealth.”

¹⁰ For am I now ^(A)seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a ^(B)bond-servant of Christ.

⁴ You ^(A)adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with ^(B)the world is ^(C)hostility toward God? ^(D)Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
