³⁸ The Lord’s fire came down and devoured the burnt offering, wood, stones, and dust, and lapped up the water in the trench.

Chapter 7

^1 (A)When Solomon had ended his prayer, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offerings and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the house.

¹⁰ Just as Moses prayed to the Lord and fire descended from the sky and consumed the sacrifices, so also Solomon prayed and fire came down and consumed the burnt offerings.^(A)

¹⁶ The glory of the Lord settled upon Mount Sinai. The cloud covered it for six days, and on the seventh day he called to Moses from the midst of the cloud.^{(A) 17} To the Israelites the glory of the Lord was seen as a consuming fire on the top of the mountain.^(B)
