44 On the seventh(A) time, he reported, “There’s a cloud as small as a man’s hand coming up from the sea.”

Then Elijah said, “Go and tell Ahab, ‘Get your chariot ready and go down so the rain doesn’t stop you.’”

45 In a little while, the sky grew dark with clouds and wind, and there was a downpour. So Ahab got in his chariot and went to Jezreel.(B) 46 The power of the Lord(C) was on Elijah, and he tucked his mantle under his belt(D) and ran ahead of Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

So Elijah said, “Go and tell Ahab, ‘Hitch up your chariot and go down before the rain stops you.’”

45 Meanwhile, the sky grew black with clouds, the wind rose, a heavy rain(C) started falling and Ahab rode off to Jezreel.(D) 46 The power(E) of the Lord came on Elijah and, tucking his cloak into his belt,(F) he ran ahead of Ahab all the way to Jezreel.
