12 And Solomon became the new king, replacing his father David; and his kingdom prospered.
13 One day Adonijah, the son of Haggith, came to see Solomon’s mother, Bathsheba.
“Have you come to make trouble?” she asked him.
“No,” he replied, “I come in peace. 14 As a matter of fact, I have a favor to ask of you.”
“What is it?” she asked.

12 So Solomon sat on the throne(A) of his father David, and his rule was firmly established.(B)
Solomon’s Throne Established
13 Now Adonijah,(C) the son of Haggith, went to Bathsheba, Solomon’s mother. Bathsheba asked him, “Do you come peacefully?”(D)
He answered, “Yes, peacefully.” 14 Then he added, “I have something to say to you.”
“You may say it,” she replied.
