18 And Bathsheba said, “Very well; I will speak to the king for you.”
Adonijah Put to Death
19 So Bathsheba went to King Solomon to speak to him for Adonijah. And the king arose to meet her, bowed before her, and sat on his throne; then he (A)had a throne set for the king’s mother, and (B)she sat on his right. 20 Then she said, “I am making one small request of you; (C)do not turn [a]me away.” And the king said to her, “Ask, my mother, for I will not turn [b]you away.”

18 “Very well,” Bathsheba replied, “I will speak to the king for you.”
19 When Bathsheba went to King Solomon to speak to him for Adonijah, the king stood up to meet her, bowed down to her and sat down on his throne. He had a throne brought for the king’s mother,(A) and she sat down at his right hand.(B)
20 “I have one small request to make of you,” she said. “Do not refuse me.”
The king replied, “Make it, my mother; I will not refuse you.”
