34 Then (A)Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up and fell upon him and put him to death, and he was buried at his own house (B)in the wilderness. 35 (C)The king appointed Benaiah the son of Jehoiada over the army in his place, and the king appointed (D)Zadok the priest (E)in the place of Abiathar.

36 Now the king sent and called for (F)Shimei and said to him, “Build for yourself a house in Jerusalem and live there, and do not go out from there to any place.

34 So Benaiah(A) son of Jehoiada went up and struck down Joab(B) and killed him, and he was buried at his home out in the country. 35 The king put Benaiah(C) son of Jehoiada over the army in Joab’s position and replaced Abiathar with Zadok(D) the priest.
36 Then the king sent for Shimei(E) and said to him, “Build yourself a house in Jerusalem and live there, but do not go anywhere else.
