42 Then he said to him, ‘Thus says the Lord, “Because you have let the man go whom I had devoted to destruction, therefore your life shall be for his life, and your people for his people.”’ 43 The king of Israel set out towards home, resentful and sullen, and came to Samaria.

42 He said to the king, “This is what the Lord says: ‘You(A) have set free a man I had determined should die.[a](B) Therefore it is your life for his life,(C) your people for his people.’” 43 Sullen and angry,(D) the king of Israel went to his palace in Samaria.
