²⁹ “Have you noticed how Ahab has humbled himself before me? Because he has humbled^(A) himself, I will not bring this disaster in his day,^(B) but I will bring it on his house in the days of his son.”^(C)

⁶ The leaders of Israel and the king humbled^(A) themselves and said, “The Lord is just.”^(B)

⁷ When the Lord saw that they humbled themselves, this word of the Lord came to Shemaiah: “Since they have humbled themselves, I will not destroy them but will soon give them deliverance.^(C) My wrath^(D) will not be poured out on Jerusalem through Shishak.

²⁶ Then Hezekiah repented^(A) of the pride of his heart, as did the people of Jerusalem; therefore the Lord’s wrath did not come on them during the days of Hezekiah.^(B)

¹² In his distress he sought the favor of the Lord his God and humbled^(A) himself greatly before the God of his ancestors. ¹³ And when he prayed to him, the Lord was moved by his entreaty and listened to his plea; so he brought him back to Jerusalem and to his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord is God.
