1 Kings 8:18-20

18 But the Lord said to my father David, ‘Because it was [a]in your heart to build a house for My name, you did well that it was [b]in your heart. 19 (A)Nevertheless you shall not build the house, but your son who [c]will be born to you, he will build the house for My name.’ 20 Now the Lord has fulfilled His word which He spoke; for (B)I have risen in place of my father David and sit on the throne of Israel, as the Lord [d]promised, and have built the house for the name of the Lord, the God of Israel.

18 But the Lord said to my father David, ‘You did well to have it in your heart to build a temple for my Name. 19 Nevertheless, you(A) are not the one to build the temple, but your son, your own flesh and blood—he is the one who will build the temple for my Name.’(B)
20 “The Lord has kept the promise he made: I have succeeded(C) David my father and now I sit on the throne of Israel, just as the Lord promised, and I have built(D) the temple for the Name of the Lord, the God of Israel.
