Solomon’s Forced Labor

¹⁵ This is the account of the forced labor^(A) that King Solomon had imposed to build the Lord’s temple, his own palace, the supporting terraces,^(B) the wall of Jerusalem,^(C) and Hazor,^(D) Megiddo,^(E) and Gezer.^(F)

²⁷ and this is the reason he rebelled against the king: Solomon had built the supporting terraces^(A) and repaired the opening in the wall of the city of his father David.

⁵ Then Hezekiah strengthened his position by rebuilding the entire broken-down wall^(A) and heightening the towers and the other outside wall.^(B) He repaired the supporting terraces^(C) of the city of David, and made an abundance of weapons and shields.
