1 Peter 2:6-8
Contemporary English Version
6 (A) It is just as God says in the Scriptures,
“Look! I am placing in Zion
a choice and precious
cornerstone.
No one who has faith
in this one
will be disappointed.”
7 (B) You are followers of the Lord, and this stone is precious to you. But it isn't precious to those who refuse to follow him. They are the builders who tossed aside the stone that turned out to be the most important one of all. 8 (C) They disobeyed the message and stumbled and fell over this stone, because they were doomed.

New International Version
6 For in Scripture it says:
“See, I lay a stone in Zion,
a chosen and precious cornerstone,(A)
and the one who trusts in him
will never be put to shame.”[a](B)
7 Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe,(C)
8 and,
They stumble because they disobey the message—which is also what they were destined for.(G)
