7 Likewise, (A)husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker (B)vessel, since they are heirs with you[a] of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.
Suffering for Righteousness' Sake
8 Finally, all of you, (C)have unity of mind, sympathy, (D)brotherly love, (E)a tender heart, and (F)a humble mind. 9 (G)Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, (H)bless, for (I)to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.

7 Husbands,(A) in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.
Suffering for Doing Good
8 Finally, all of you, be like-minded,(B) be sympathetic, love one another,(C) be compassionate and humble.(D) 9 Do not repay evil with evil(E) or insult with insult.(F) On the contrary, repay evil with blessing,(G) because to this(H) you were called(I) so that you may inherit a blessing.(J)
