“^(A)Has the Lord as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices
As in obeying the voice of the Lord?
Behold, ^(B)to obey is better than sacrifice,
And to heed than the fat of rams.

¹¹ “^(A)What are your multiplied sacrifices to Me?”
Says the Lord.
“I ^[a]have had enough of burnt offerings of rams
And the fat of fed cattle;
And I take no pleasure in the blood of bulls, lambs or goats.

^6 (A)With what shall I come to the Lord
And bow myself before the God on high?
Shall I come to Him with ^(B)burnt offerings,
With yearling calves?
⁷ Does the Lord take delight in ^(C)thousands of rams,
In ten thousand rivers of oil?
Shall I present my ^(D)firstborn for my rebellious acts,
The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
⁸ He has ^(E)told you, O man, what is good;
And ^(F)what does the Lord require of you
But to ^(G)do justice, to ^(H)love ^[a]kindness,
And to walk ^[b](I)humbly with your God?

“^(B)Sacrifice and offering You have not desired,
But ^(C)a body You have prepared for Me;
^6 (D)In whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You have taken no pleasure.
⁷ “^(E)Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come
(In ^(F)the scroll of the book it is written of Me)
To do Your will, O God.’”
