1 Samuel 16:4-6
International Standard Version
4 Samuel did what the Lord said and went to Bethlehem. The elders of the town came out to meet him trembling, and said, “May your coming be in peace.”
5 He said, “Peace, I’ve come to sacrifice to the Lord. Consecrate yourselves and come with me to the sacrifice.” Samuel[a] consecrated Jesse and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice.
6 When they arrived, Samuel[b] saw Eliab, and said, “Surely he’s the Lord’s[c] anointed.”[d]

New International Version
4 Samuel did what the Lord said. When he arrived at Bethlehem,(A) the elders of the town trembled(B) when they met him. They asked, “Do you come in peace?(C)”
5 Samuel replied, “Yes, in peace; I have come to sacrifice to the Lord. Consecrate(D) yourselves and come to the sacrifice with me.” Then he consecrated Jesse and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice.
6 When they arrived, Samuel saw Eliab(E) and thought, “Surely the Lord’s anointed stands here before the Lord.”
