35 I would go out after it, strike it down, and rescue the lamb[a] from its mouth. Then when it rose up against me, I would grab it by its fur,[b] strike it down, and kill it. 36 Your servant has struck down both lions and bears, and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, since he defied[c] the armies of the living God.” 37 David continued, “The Lord who delivered me from the power of[d] the lion and the power of[e] the bear will also deliver me from the power of[f] this Philistine.”
Saul told David, “Go! And may the Lord be with you.”

When it turned on me, I seized(A) it by its hair, struck it and killed it. 36 Your servant has killed both the lion(B) and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God. 37 The Lord who rescued(C) me from the paw of the lion(D) and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.”
Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with(E) you.”
