1 Samuel 18:3-5
International Standard Version
3 Jonathan made a covenant with David because he loved him as he loved himself. 4 Jonathan took off the robe that he had on and gave it to David, along with his coat, his sword, his bow, and his belt. 5 David went out and was successful everywhere Saul sent him, and Saul put him in charge of the troops. This pleased the entire army,[a] as well as Saul’s officials.[b]

New International Version
3 And Jonathan made a covenant(A) with David because he loved him as himself. 4 Jonathan took off the robe(B) he was wearing and gave it to David, along with his tunic, and even his sword, his bow and his belt.(C)
5 Whatever mission Saul sent him on, David was so successful(D) that Saul gave him a high rank in the army.(E) This pleased all the troops, and Saul’s officers as well.
