1 Samuel 19:6-8
New English Translation
6 Saul accepted Jonathan’s advice[a] and took an oath, “As surely as the Lord lives, he will not be put to death.” 7 Then Jonathan called David and told him all these things. Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he served him as he had done formerly.[b]
8 Now once again there was war. So David went out to fight the Philistines. He defeated them thoroughly,[c] and they ran away from him.

6 Saul listened to Jonathan and took this oath: “As surely as the Lord lives, David will not be put to death.”
7 So Jonathan called David and told him the whole conversation. He brought him to Saul, and David was with Saul as before.(A)
8 Once more war broke out, and David went out and fought the Philistines. He struck them with such force that they fled before him.
