2 So Saul took three thousand men selected from all Israel and went to look for David and his soldiers near the rocks of the wild goats. 3 He came to the sheep pens beside the road where there was a cave. Saul went into the cave to use the restroom.[a] Meanwhile, David and his soldiers were sitting in the very back of the cave.
4 David’s soldiers said to him, “This is the day the Lord spoke of when he promised you, ‘I will hand your enemy over to you, and you can do to him whatever you think best.’” So David snuck up and cut off a corner of Saul’s robe.

2 So Saul took three thousand able young men from all Israel and set out to look(A) for David and his men near the Crags of the Wild Goats.
3 He came to the sheep pens along the way; a cave(B) was there, and Saul went in to relieve(C) himself. David and his men were far back in the cave. 4 The men said, “This is the day the Lord spoke(D) of when he said[a] to you, ‘I will give your enemy into your hands for you to deal with as you wish.’”(E) Then David crept up unnoticed and cut(F) off a corner of Saul’s robe.
