⁶ And he said to his men, ^(A)“The Lord forbid that I should do this thing to my master, the Lord’s anointed, to stretch out my hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the Lord.”

⁷ So David ^(A)restrained his servants with these words, and did not allow them to rise against Saul. And Saul got up from the cave and went on his way.

¹⁴ So David said to him, “How ^(A)was it you were not ^(B)afraid to ^(C)put forth your hand to destroy the Lord’s anointed?”

¹⁶ So David said to him, ^(A)“Your blood is on your own head, for ^(B)your own mouth has testified against you, saying, ‘I have killed the Lord’s anointed.’ ”
