1 Samuel 3:2-4
The Voice
2 Eli, who was very old, had become almost blind. He was lying in his room; 3 it was late at night but before dawn as the lamp of God still burned. Samuel was resting in the house of the Eternal One, where the covenant chest of the True God was located, and he heard a voice.
Eternal One: 4 Samuel! Samuel!
Samuel: Here I am!

New International Version
2 One night Eli, whose eyes(A) were becoming so weak that he could barely see,(B) was lying down in his usual place. 3 The lamp(C) of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the house(D) of the Lord, where the ark(E) of God was. 4 Then the Lord called Samuel.
Samuel answered, “Here I am.(F)”
